Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Riverside, CA
A hospital-based opportunity is available in California for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist seeking a travel contract role. This position involves collaborating with dedicated healthcare teams to deliver speech therapy services to diverse patient populations in an acute care setting. Candidates must demonstrate a strong clinical background and exceptional communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital-based SLP experience
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathologist license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
- Strong documentation and organizational abilities
- Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and patients from various backgrounds
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract assignment with standard hospital shifts (specifics provided during the interview process)
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders
- Provide individualized therapy and monitor patient progress
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals for coordinated patient care
- Educate patients and family members on therapy goals and at-home exercises
- Maintain thorough and accurate patient records in accordance with hospital protocols
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to case conferences
