Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Speech-Language, or Communication Disorders is required
- SLPA license is not required in Virginia for this role
- Previous experience working with children or within a school setting is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with staff, students, and families
- Ability to adapt to different educational and social needs within diverse school communities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, implementing individualized treatment plans
- Assist in conducting speech, language, and communication screenings
- Support the development and implementation of therapy materials and activities tailored to IEP goals
- Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to reinforce classroom learning and ensure success across school settings
- Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings as scheduled
This position follows the school year calendar and offers a consistent weekly schedule of 35 hours (7 hours per day), beginning as soon as possible and extending through June 11th, 2027.
