Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Speech Language, or Communication Disorders is required.
- Experience working as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a school setting preferred.
- VA does not require an SLPA license for this position; however, educational credentials are mandatory.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to support students of varying abilities.
- Proven capability to work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing speech and language therapy plans designed by licensed Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Provide direct support to students in both individual and group sessions, focusing on communication and language skills.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and session activities.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the classroom environment as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents to enhance the learning experience.
