School Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Sunnyvale, California
Step into a rewarding role supporting students’ communication growth across two elementary schools and one middle school. This full-time, in-person position offers a dynamic workweek: you’ll spend three days at one elementary campus and one day each at the other schools. The position is needed as soon as possible and is contracted through the entire school year, with hours likely from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Hold a valid SLPA (Speech-Language Pathology Assistant) license/certification.
- Previous experience within a school environment is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of supporting children from elementary through middle school ages.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, educators, and families.
- Ability to work independently and contribute as part of a collaborative team.
- Organizational skills for managing caseloads and documentation effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language support to students as directed by supervising SLPs.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) under SLP supervision.
- Deliver engaging small-group and one-on-one therapy sessions tailored to student needs.
- Maintain accurate records and data on student progress and therapy sessions.
- Work closely with school staff to ensure integrated support throughout the school community.
- Assist with parent communication, progress reports, and related student documentation.
- Adapt approaches as needed for diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds within the school community.
