School-Based Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - San Jose, California
Step into an impactful contract opportunity working across two elementary schools and one middle school, providing essential support as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This full-time, in-person role begins as soon as possible and extends throughout the school year, allowing you to make a lasting difference in students' academic and social success.
You’ll spend three days each week at one elementary school, while the other elementary and middle schools each receive your expertise for one day per week. Your hours will likely align with a standard school day, approximately 7:45 am to 3:45 pm.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid California SLPA license or eligibility required
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload across multiple campuses
- Flexibility and professionalism in a dynamic educational environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized and group speech/language therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Carry out treatment plans and intervention strategies in accordance with students’ IEPs
- Collect and document data on student progress and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with teaching staff, serve as a resource for classroom strategies, and support IEP team goals
- Travel between school sites as scheduled
