School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | Santa Clara, California
Step into a dynamic school-based environment supporting students’ communication needs as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) on a contract basis. Work closely with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to help children reach their fullest academic and social potential. Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid SLPA license in California
- Practical experience in school settings preferred
- Knowledge of speech-language therapy techniques and resources for PreK–12th graders
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage students, families, and staff
- Capable of maintaining accurate records and adhering to IEP guidelines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Clear background check and appropriate immunizations as required by state guidelines
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to students under a supervising SLP
- Implement individualized treatment plans and document student progress
- Assist with screenings, assessments, and preparation of therapy materials
- Support the SLP in IEP meetings and ongoing communication with teachers and parents
- Participate in school-based team meetings and professional development
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all school policies and regulations
