Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid California SLPA license or eligibility to obtain
- Experience in school-based environments or strong passion for working with children and adolescents
- Solid understanding of speech and language development and common communication disorders
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, families, and supervising SLPs
- Reliability, organization, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Implement assigned therapy sessions and activities, adjusting as needed for individual student needs
- Support progress monitoring by collecting data and maintaining thorough records on student performance
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as necessary to support student goals
- Communicate with educators and families to reinforce therapy goals throughout the school day
- Assist with screenings and assessments to identify students in need of additional support
