Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Opportunity
Location: Riverside, California
Schedule: Full-Time
Assignment Dates: Immediate Start Through End of School Year
A school district in the Riverside area is seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students' communication and language development for the remainder of the school year. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative educational environment while making a meaningful impact on student success.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Implement treatment plans and therapy activities designed by the supervising SLP
- Conduct individual and small-group therapy sessions
- Assist with speech, language, articulation, fluency, and social communication interventions
- Document student performance and progress toward therapy goals
- Maintain accurate service logs and required documentation
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to support student outcomes
- Prepare therapy materials and support classroom communication strategies
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to student progress discussions
Required Qualifications
- Active California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) License required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related field
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with students, staff, and families in a school setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience
- Familiarity with IEPs and special education services
- Experience working with students with varying communication needs
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
