Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a vibrant, diverse school setting near Richmond, TX! This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, with flexibility for 30 to 37.5 hours per week. Depending on your location, you'll be thoughtfully matched to one primary school, with potential to float to a second site as needed, focusing on elementary through high school students. With a manageable caseload—typically 80-90 students—your skills and experience will be valued in ensuring the ideal assignment.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid SLPA professional license
- Prior experience in school-based settings working with elementary, middle, and/or high school populations
- Familiarity with AAC devices used in educational settings is highly desirable
- State fingerprinting/background check required (time-sensitive)
- Experience with caseload management of 80+ preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with supervising SLPs, teachers, and families
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect speech-language therapy under supervision of a licensed SLP
- Support students in developing functional communication across a range of ages and needs
- Implement IEP goals and data collection procedures
- Utilize AAC devices and adapt materials as appropriate
- Collaborate with school staff and participate in school-based meetings
- Travel between campuses (if needed), assigned based on candidate’s home location
