In this role, you’ll work closely under the supervision of a licensed SLP, implementing therapy activities, tracking student progress, and facilitating meaningful outcomes for students with diverse speech and language needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in Texas
- Prior experience in a school-based environment highly preferred
- Strong understanding of child development and speech-language interventions
- Ability to create a supportive, engaging atmosphere for students ages PreK–12
- Skilled in documentation and progress monitoring
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with educators and families
- Organizational skills for managing caseloads and scheduling
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as directed by the supervising SLP
- Conduct group and one-on-one activities to target student speech and language goals
- Collect and maintain accurate data on student performance and therapy outcomes
- Adapt therapy materials for varying student needs
- Participate in school meetings and professional development as required
