Speech Therapist Assistant in La Vernia, TX
Step into a new opportunity supporting elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position offers the chance to work with a diverse caseload of approximately 101 students in a collaborative, resource-rich environment. You’ll play an important role working alongside SLPs and educators to help children reach their full communication potential.
This contract assignment begins on August 27, 2026, and extends through May 27, 2027. You’ll work a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 37.5 hours each week, giving you stability and the ability to plan with confidence.
Qualifications:
- Active Texas SLPA license
- Experience with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload in a school setting
- Commitment to supporting students’ individual needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Assist with developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Track student progress and document sessions accurately
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to promote student success
- Prepare therapy materials and adapt activities as needed
