School-Based Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Portsmouth, Virginia

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Associate’s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant studies or a related field
- Valid SLPA licensure within Virginia (or eligibility)
- Previous experience working with pediatric or school-age populations is preferred
- Strong communication abilities and professionalism when interacting with students, staff, and families
- Comfortable collaborating on multidisciplinary teams and following treatment plans developed by SLP supervisors
- Ability to manage time well and adapt in a dynamic school setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Assist in the implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Gather data and document student progress, maintaining accurate records
- Prepare therapy materials and activities that align with students’ speech/language goals
- Support parent and staff education efforts as directed by your supervising SLP
- Participate in team meetings and contribute insights on student progress and needs
