Qualifications and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting, or equivalent
  • Current SLPA licensure (or eligibility) for the state of Maine
  • Previous experience in school settings or working with children preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with SLPs, educators, and families effectively
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and flexible in a dynamic environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students as directed by a supervising SLP
  • Assist with implementing individualized education program (IEP) goals and documenting student progress
  • Support SLPs in designing and preparing therapy materials and activities
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions about student development
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with school and state guidelines
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning atmosphere for all students
