Schedule: Full-Time | School-Based | Monday–Friday
Contract: 2026-2027 School Year
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and collaborative Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join a school-based team. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services to students across the school setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for an SLPA who enjoys working with children, collaborating with educators, and making a meaningful impact on students' communication and academic success.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
- Implement individualized treatment plans and goals developed by the supervising SLP.
- Work with students individually or in small groups based on their needs and IEP goals.
- Support students with articulation, language, fluency, voice, social communication, and other communication needs as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Collect and document data related to student progress and treatment outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including service logs and progress data.
- Collaborate with SLPs, teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families as appropriate.
- Participate in IEP meetings and other school-based meetings as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Assist with screenings, observations, and other assessment-related activities within the scope of SLPA practice.
- Establish positive relationships with students while creating a supportive and engaging therapy environment.
- Follow all school, district, and state requirements regarding student confidentiality and professional conduct.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field, as required by the state.
- Current SLPA license/certification or eligibility for licensure in FL
- Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Passion for working with children and supporting student success.
- Ability to follow treatment plans and accurately collect and document data.
