Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Speech-Language, or Communication Disorders is required
- Previous experience in a school-based setting as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) preferred
- No SLPA license required for practice in Virginia
- Strong collaboration, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to adapt activities for diverse student needs
- Eagerness to work within a multidisciplinary team to support student IEP goals
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support students with communication needs under the supervision of a certified Speech-Language Pathologist
- Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to individual student plans
- Assist with documenting student progress and maintaining accurate records
- Prepare instructional materials and follow therapy plans as directed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student progress discussions
- Communicate regularly with teachers, families, and staff to monitor and support student development
This assignment starts as soon as possible and continues through June 11th, 2027, providing full-time hours (35 per week, 7 each day). This long-term role offers a unique chance to build meaningful relationships while advancing your professional skills within an educational environment.
