School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | Manassas, Virginia

You’ll work in close partnership with speech-language pathologists, assisting in the implementation of therapy programs that help children thrive academically and socially. Your expertise will play a key role in supporting students at both River Oaks and Swans Creek Elementary Schools.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Communications, Speech Language, or Communication Disorders is required
- SLPA license is not required for Virginia
- Prior experience within a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with supervising SLPs, educators, and families
- Passion for fostering inclusion and helping students reach their potential
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support under the supervision of an SLP, including helping with group and individual therapy sessions
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of therapy materials
- Document students’ progress and maintain accurate records
- Carry out treatment plans as directed, reinforcing communication strategies in classroom and social settings
- Contribute to a positive, encouraging atmosphere for students from diverse backgrounds
This assignment offers 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with school-based hours for optimal work-life balance. The position is set to begin as soon as possible and continues through June 11, 2027, allowing you to build lasting connections and witness meaningful student growth.
