School Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Fairfax, Virginia

Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Speech-Language Pathology, or Communication Disorders
- Hands-on experience within educational or pediatric settings is highly valued
- An understanding of individualized educational plans (IEPs) and familiarity working with diverse student needs
- Clear, compassionate communication skills to collaborate with educators, students, and families
- Current SLPA license not required in Virginia, but coursework in Speech or Communication Disorders is essential
- Strong organizational abilities and adaptability to work in multiple school locations
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist certified Speech-Language Pathologists with therapy sessions in both individual and group settings
- Implement interventions tailored to students’ treatment goals under the direction of supervising SLPs
- Document student progress and help maintain comprehensive records per district requirements
- Collaborate regularly with faculty and families to support holistic communication development
- Participate in team meetings and school initiatives that foster student success
