School Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Atwater, California
Step into an impactful role supporting young learners with communication needs as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in a vibrant educational environment. This full-time, contract opportunity runs from ASAP through early June 2025, covering both the Extended School Year (ESY) and Next School Year (NSY). You’ll work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, providing targeted speech and language interventions that help students achieve their goals.
In this position, you will facilitate 20-30 minute small group sessions (typically 2-4 students per group), as well as individualized support for preschoolers and “littles” who require more one-on-one attention. Your compassion and expertise will create a nurturing space where students build confidence and communication skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current California SLPA license/certification required
- Experience with pediatric and/or school-based caseloads is highly desired
- Familiarity with group and 1:1 session formats
- Clear communication and documentation skills
- Collaborative mindset for working alongside SLPs, educators, and families
- Passion for making an impact on young children’s growth and learning
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver planned speech and language interventions under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Support students in both group and individual settings
- Track and report students’ progress toward therapy goals
- Collaborate with team members to develop and adapt strategies
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all learners
