In this school-based role, you'll deliver speech-language services within elementary school environments, helping students reach their communication goals and succeed in the classroom. You'll collaborate closely with supervising Speech-Language Pathologists and educators, utilizing your expertise to implement therapy plans and track student progress.
What we’re looking for:
- Degree in Communications, Speech Language, or Communication Disorders (required)
- Previous experience in a school setting as an SLPA is highly valued
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to supporting student growth
- No SLPA license required in Virginia
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the delivery of speech and language therapy services under a licensed SLP’s supervision
- Supporting student intervention for articulation, language, voice, and fluency disorders
- Collaborating with teachers and special education staff to address student needs
- Maintaining records and documentation of services and student progress
- Participating in team meetings, contributing insights and updates on student performance
