School-Based Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Alexandria, Virginia
Make a meaningful difference in the school community by supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This contract role focuses on providing direct and indirect speech-language services to students in the Dale City, Dumfries, and Woodbridge areas. From August 24th, 2026, through June 11th, 2027, you’ll play a vital part in helping students reach their communication goals throughout the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Speech-Language Pathology, or Communication Disorders required
- Enthusiasm for working in educational settings with children and adolescents
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- No SLPA license required in Virginia
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver therapy services
- Implement therapy activities targeting speech, language, and communication goals
- Assist with screening, documentation, and progress reporting for assigned students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student success
- Prepare materials and maintain records in accordance with school policies
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
