A full-time Occupational Therapist is needed for the 2026-2027 school year to provide essential support to students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This role focuses on helping students develop fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor coordination, and self-regulation abilities to enhance their access to education and overall success in the school setting. Located in Yorktown, VA, this school-based position follows the academic calendar, offering a balanced work schedule aligned with school holidays and breaks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and treat students’ fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, and self-regulation needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP and 504 plan goals and accommodations
- Deliver direct therapy, push-in support, and provide classroom consultations
- Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and families to support individualized student progress
- Adapt equipment and environment to promote independence and participation
- Maintain accurate documentation and track progress toward therapeutic goals
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid state Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain one
- NBCOT certification is preferred
- Experience working with pediatric or school-based populations highly desired
- Familiarity with assistive technology and sensory intervention strategies is a plus
