Speech Language Pathologist in Woodbridge, VA
Step into a rewarding school-based role in the Washington DC area where your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathologist makes a lasting impact. This contract opportunity runs from August 3, 2026, to May 27, 2027, across 185 school days, providing full-time hours at 37.5 per week. With assignment options available at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, you’ll have the chance to work with diverse age groups and support students’ communication development in an engaging, in-person educational setting—virtual or hybrid arrangements are not available.
Qualifications and Experience Desired:
- Active and current Speech-Language Pathology license for Virginia
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in serving school-aged children and adolescents
- Adaptability for working with various age groups and caseloads, as assignment locations may vary
- Familiarity with IEP process, evaluations, and therapy planning in educational contexts
- Must be able to initiate the Virginia Department of Social Services background check promptly
- Recent negative TB test (as per state requirements) is necessary
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy to students at assigned school(s)
- Conduct assessments, maintain accurate records, and develop individual education plans
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student outcomes
- Participate in school meetings and contribute to a supportive learning environment for all students
- Travel between assigned campuses, as needed, within the region
