Elementary Pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist in Winter Garden, FL
Step into an exciting opportunity working with young learners, helping to unlock their potential through effective communication and support. This full-time, contract position focuses on serving early childhood through elementary-aged students (PreK–5th grade) in a supportive and collaborative educational setting. You'll be instrumental in making a difference throughout the remainder of the school year, with a contract beginning in March and extending through the end of May.
Your expertise will help shape positive outcomes for students with a variety of needs. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide innovative speech-language pathology services tailored to early learners, including those who benefit from communication devices and visual supports for sensory needs.
What You’ll Bring:
- Current and active Florida DOH Speech-Language Pathology license (required)
- Demonstrated experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in school settings
- Proficiency with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices
- Skills in addressing behavioral challenges related to speech and language deficits
- Familiarity with incorporating visual supports for students with sensory needs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to full-time, 37.5 hours per week from March through May
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language services to early childhood and elementary students
- Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for speech, language, and communication disorders
- Utilize technology and creative resources to enhance communication, including AAC devices
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress
- Maintain detailed and timely documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
