Step into a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist role covering a maternity leave from August to December, working full time. This position focuses on serving an elementary caseload, providing vital speech and language services that help students succeed both academically and socially.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure or eligibility to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Previous experience delivering speech and language services in a school environment, particularly with elementary students
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for elementary-aged students with speech, language, communication, and related disorders
- Deliver engaging therapy sessions, both individually and in groups, tailored to meet the unique needs of each student
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to create and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, families, and other professionals to maximize student progress
- Maintain accurate, thorough records and track student growth
- Stay current with best practices and fulfill continuing education requirements as needed
