School Speech Language Pathologist - Wheaton, Illinois

The first leave begins in late October or early November and runs through mid-December 2026. You’ll provide services at both a middle school and an elementary school, fostering communication growth for students at critical learning stages. The second leave kicks off in December and extends to May 2027, where you will work with high school students, guiding them toward confident communication as they prepare for graduation and beyond.
Qualifications & Credentials:
- Hold active Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license
- Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- SLP-CCC preferred, but strong Clinical Fellows (CFs) are welcome to apply
- Previous experience in school settings or with pediatric populations valued
- Familiarity with IEPs, student evaluations, and collaborative team environments
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy to students in assigned schools
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and measure progress
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in partnership with teachers and families
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support each student’s success
- Engage in consultation and training with school staff as needed
- Maintain accurate therapy records and progress reports
