Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students’ communication needs near Des Plaines, IL. Two full-time SLP leaves are available for the 2026–2027 school year: the first begins in late October or early November and continues until December 18, 2026; the second starts in December and runs through May 2027. These roles will provide pivotal speech and language support on school campuses, ensuring continuity of care for diverse student groups.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathology license required
- Professional Educator License (PEL) for Illinois
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) highly desired
- Consideration given to strong SLP Clinical Fellows
- Previous clinical or school-based experience preferred
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to supporting students with diverse speech and language needs
- Ability to adapt to varying caseloads and developmental stages
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language services to a defined caseload: one middle school and one elementary school for the first leave; high school students for the second
- Conduct assessments, develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and track student progress
- Provide both direct therapy and consultative services in classroom and pull-out settings
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure optimal support for student success
- Document services, maintain compliance with state regulations, and participate in team meetings
- Advocate for student needs, employing evidence-based interventions
