Speech Therapist in Amherst, MA
An opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide Extended School Year (ESY) services at a high school in Ludlow, MA. This role supports students within a specialized program designed for those with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other learning differences, focusing on personalized education that fosters independence beyond traditional classroom settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services, including AAC support, for high school students within the Compass High Program.
- Collaborate with educational staff to tailor individualized therapy plans based on student needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and student progress.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss strategies and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist required.
- Experience working in school settings, preferably with high school students.
- Familiarity with AAC devices and providing AAC services (evaluation experience not mandatory).
- Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders and learning differences in adolescents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and staff effectively.
Position Details:
- Location: Ludlow, MA
- Schedule: 15-20 hours per week, 2-3 days weekly
- Contract Duration: July 6, 2026 – August 7, 2026, with the possibility of consideration for the 2026-2027 school year.
