Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Weaverville, NC
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students’ communication and academic growth for the upcoming school year! We’re seeking two dedicated Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to serve pre-K to 12th grade—primarily K-5—across three vibrant school sites. You’ll collaborate with school teams and speech-language pathology assistants (SLPAs) in a varied, engaging role spanning traditional and head start settings as well as providing services for a private school student.
Key Qualifications:
- Active SLP license for North Carolina
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC)
- DHHS Pre-K background check (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with school-aged populations and IEP processes preferred
- Ability to supervise and collaborate with SLPAs
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech therapy to a caseload of approximately 40–50 students, primarily in elementary grades
- Serve students across three sites and coordinate with faculty, staff, and families
- Complete required paperwork for IEPs—including related services documentation, present levels, goal writing, and noting service times
- Act as case manager for students whose primary category is Speech Impaired—handle all case management duties, arrange and facilitate IEP meetings, and maintain thorough records in ECATS
- Support communication goals through collaboration with teachers, staff, and families
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
Contract Details:
- Full school year: August 6, 2026 (teacher start) or August 17, 2026 (student start) through June 2, 2027
- 5 days/37.5 hours per week
- Support from mentors and the district’s special education professionals
