Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Vista, CA
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Speech Language Pathologist supporting students for the 2026-2027 school year. This position, based near the Vista, California area, offers both full-time and part-time options with up to 40 hours per week. Your schedule will follow a consistent 7:30am-3:00pm routine, working across 1-2 school sites and focusing mainly on elementary students, with some middle school involvement.
You'll make a difference providing evaluations, therapy services, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. This role welcomes both experienced SLPs holding their CCC as well as motivated Clinical Fellows; unfortunately, this opportunity is not available for SLPAs or those seeking Voco/teletherapy placements.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid CA state license or eligibility in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, but not required—clinical fellows are encouraged to apply!
- Strong background working with pediatric populations, especially within school settings
- Expertise in conducting assessments, developing IEP goals, and implementing interventions
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Prior experience in teletherapy or healthcare settings a plus, but not the primary focus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group speech-language therapy to students
- Assess, screen, and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with special education staff, teachers, and parents to achieve student goals
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute professional insight for effective service planning
- Travel between assigned school sites as needed
