Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Virginia Beach, VA

This school-based speech-language pathology role spans multiple districts through a regional special education program, renowned for empowering students with complex behavioral and developmental needs. With over five unique programs—including offerings for autism spectrum, alternative education, and children with complex health needs—your expertise will make a direct impact on diverse learners in inclusive and specialized settings.
This position begins as soon as possible and runs through June 2027. Both part-time and full-time candidates are encouraged to apply, with flexible scheduling at approximately 36.65 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The caseload includes both in-school and home visits, serving students who benefit from robust interdisciplinary support.
Key Qualifications:
- Active (or pending) Virginia SLP or SLPA license required
- Experience working with students exhibiting significant behavioral or developmental challenges
- Proficiency in providing services in both functional and inclusion settings
- Skilled in adapting communication strategies for a range of student abilities
- Comfortable collaborating with a strong support network within the district
- Previous interview experience with this program or district is not permitted
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy and interventions tailored to individual student needs
- Conduct assessments, develop IEP goals, and document progress
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and consultation
- Complete home visits as needed to facilitate family involvement and support carryover
- Adapt services to address behavioral and complex communication needs
