Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Portsmouth, VA

Key Qualifications:
- Must hold an active or pending Virginia SLP or SLPA license (position start requires license activation by August)
- Prior experience working with school-based populations; experience with students with severe behavioral disorders strongly preferred
- Comfortable working in functional/inclusion settings and participating in home visits
- Willingness to collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment
- Candidates should not have previously interviewed for this school system—please confirm before applying
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group speech-language therapy to students with a range of complex behavioral and communication needs
- Conduct evaluations, develop and implement therapy plans, and track student progress using evidence-based practices
- Travel between school sites and student homes as necessary
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to develop and review student goals and progress
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all regulatory and district standards
- Engage in ongoing professional development relevant to the population served
