School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Utica, New York
An educational institution in Utica, NY, is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join on a contract basis starting ASAP through June 6, 2026. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional with current New York state certifications and a passion for working in an educational setting.
In this position, you will take over essential speech-language therapy duties as the current SLP is retiring. You will provide direct support to students requiring speech and language intervention, collaborate with educators and parents, and document progress according to state and school guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid New York State certification for Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Proven experience implementing speech and language therapy in schools
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in an educational environment
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations governing special education services
Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with student needs
- Deliver direct therapy services within the school setting
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with reporting requirements
