The position offers flexibility, as you’ll be assigned to work directly with one student for up to 2 hours per week, focusing on specialized eye gaze technology integrated with an Accent device. Direct in-person services are required, ensuring impactful, hands-on engagement.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license (issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA, if applicable
- Demonstrated experience with AT devices, specifically programming, calibration, and maintenance of eye gaze technology such as the Accent device
- References in accordance with credentialing requirements
- Background supporting high school students in educational settings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide both direct and indirect AT services for one high school student with complex communication needs
- Program, calibrate, and maintain the Accent device, ensuring optimized access for the student
- Offer consultation and training to the student’s educational team to maximize effective device use
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to integrate AT strategies into the classroom environment, supporting academic and social development
