Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Ubly, Michigan
Make an impact supporting young learners by bringing your expertise to a dynamic school environment near Ubly, MI. Two contract positions are available for passionate Speech-Language Pathologists ready to work collaboratively in educational settings focused on early intervention and specialized support. These roles will be for the school year, working 185 days at 7 hours each day.
Available Opportunities:
- Position 1: Support two Early Childhood Special Education classrooms, beginning with a smaller caseload of approximately 20 students and growing to about 35. Many students have significant communication needs and utilize Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
- Position 2: Conduct Early On evaluations and provide direct speech services to preschool-aged children. Caseload will include around 20 students, along with additional responsibilities for initial assessments and service planning.
Key Qualifications/Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and current state licensure or eligibility
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) preferred; Clinical Fellowship candidates (SLP-CFY) also encouraged to apply
- Proven experience or interest in working with school-aged children, especially in early childhood or special education settings
- Knowledge of evidence-based AAC strategies, assessment, and intervention for children with complex communication needs
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted speech-language therapy to assigned students
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations, particularly for Early On services
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals
- Maintain thorough documentation for compliance and reporting
- Participate in team meetings, IEPs, and parent conferences as needed
