Key Qualifications:
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist certification in Alabama
- SLP Educator Certificate (can be checked at the Alabama State Department of Education certification portal)
- Completion of required fingerprint/background check per state guidelines
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC) preferred; Clinical Fellow (CF) candidates also considered
- Strong passion for working with school-aged children and collaborating across educational teams
- Excellent communication, record-keeping, and documentation skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage an engaging caseload of approximately 60 students across preschool, elementary, middle, and high school sites
- Conduct assessments, develop IEP goals, and provide individualized and group therapy in accordance with student needs
- Maintain organization and timely completion of documentation and progress reporting
- Work onsite at multiple schools, including Burkett Preschool, Hueytown Primary, Lipscomb Elementary/Hueytown Middle, Pinson Valley High School, and UW/Bagley
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and families on strategies to support student progress
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions
