Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia SLP Certification required
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences
- Prior school-based SLP experience is a plus
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
- Commitment to fostering student communication skills and inclusion
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessments, diagnosis, and direct therapy for students with speech and language needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with educators and families
- Maintain timely records, progress reports, and required documentation
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute to student support strategies
- Consult and communicate with teachers, staff, and parents regarding student needs and progress
- Assist in developing prevention, intervention, and remediation strategies
- Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology
