School-Based SLP | Fredericksburg, Virginia
Seeking a collaborative Speech-Language Pathologist to support students in a dynamic educational environment near the Washington DC area, approximately 45 minutes south of downtown. This school-based, full-time contract position (37.5 hours per week) begins August 3, 2026, and continues through May 27, 2027, for the full academic year (185 days). Opportunities are available to work at the elementary, middle, or high school level—caseloads and specific campus assignments will be determined based on expertise and preference.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active Speech-Language Pathology license in Virginia required
- Experience or strong interest in school-based SLP services
- Comfortable working in-person at school sites (this is an on-site only position)
- Ability to support a range of student ages and needs, from preschool through high school
- Quick to initiate VA Department of Social Services background check and TB test (must be started promptly)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in a diverse student population
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain detailed and timely documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines
- Consult and collaborate with teachers and staff regarding student needs and progress
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school functions as needed
- Serve as an engaged member of the educational community
