This full-time virtual Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity supports students in 5th through 12th grades at a school setting in Reading, PA. The contract runs from August 24th through June 4th, with a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours (approximately 8:25 AM to 3:25 PM for middle school and high school hours from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM).
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing teletherapy services and conducting meetings to support student IEP goals using the school’s IEP writer software.
- Collaborating with on-site SLPs who focus on more intensive classes, elementary caseloads (PreK-4th grade), and evaluations.
- Managing caseloads that do not exceed the state cap of 65 students.
- Supporting numerous autism support classrooms, many utilizing AAC communication systems such as Proloquo.
- Participating in weekly meetings designed to assist incoming SLPs with resources and integration.
Desired qualifications and skills for this role:
- Experience in school-based speech-language pathology with a focus on telespeech and teletherapy services.
- Competence with AAC devices and communication boards, particularly Proloquo, is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with IEP development and compliance with special education regulations.
- Ability to manage and maintain caseloads within state limits.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
