School-Based SLP | Tacoma, Washington
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year near Tacoma, WA, providing in-person speech-language pathology services to K-12 students. This full-time position, totaling 37.5 hours per week, seeks a skilled and dedicated SLP to step in for a backfill assignment, supporting students’ communication and academic success within a dynamic school environment.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid Washington State SLP license
- ESA (Educational Staff Associate) certification required
- Must have completed fingerprinting through OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction)
- SLP-CCC credential or working toward CCCs
- Experience with K-12 student populations preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech and language assessments, intervention, and support to K-12 students in a school-based setting
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students’ language needs
- Track progress and maintain detailed records in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Adapt therapy approaches for diverse learning styles and needs in an inclusive school community
- Attend team meetings, participate in professional development, and contribute to a positive and collaborative work culture
