A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Speech Language Pathologist (CCC) with a passion for assistive technology (AT) to collaborate with a school in San Antonio. This specialized role primarily supports one high school student using eye gaze technology with an Accent device, alongside involvement with private school referral evaluations.
Your schedule will combine on-site visits (2 hours weekly for direct student/AT support) at the high school with virtual/remote work to complete additional responsibilities. The position starts as soon as possible and continues through May 26, 2027, offering a consistent 20-hour weekly commitment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license (from the Texas Dept. of Licensing and Regulation)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association)
- Demonstrated experience working in schools, especially with assistive technology (AT) such as eye gaze systems and Accent devices (programming, calibration, and maintenance)
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and educational teams
- Capable of conducting evaluations for private school referrals
- Organized approach for handling intake, paperwork, and follow-up
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, in-person therapy and AT support at the high school 2 hours each week
- Deliver indirect support and administrative tasks virtually, including communicating with parents, tracking paperwork, and coordinating private school referral evaluations
- Program, calibrate, and maintain AT devices to ensure optimal student access
- Serve as a resource for the educational team regarding communication strategies and AT solutions
