School Speech Therapist | Schaumburg, Illinois
Step into a rewarding contract position supporting students’ communication needs in a collaborative school environment. This opportunity is open to Speech-Language Pathologists at any stage in their career—whether you hold your Certificate of Clinical Competence or are a new graduate seeking your Clinical Fellowship. With full supervision provided, even those just entering the field will feel confident and supported.
You’ll work full time (37.5 hours per week) at two campuses serving students in grades K-6 or K-8 (your preference and final placement confirmed during the interview process) in vibrant communities near Schaumburg, IL and neighboring areas including Algonquin, Carpentersville, Dundee, and Hampshire.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- SLP-CCC or eligibility for CFY, with new graduates encouraged to apply
- Current or eligible licensure to practice as an SLP in Illinois
- Familiarity or experience with IEP processes, therapy documentation, and school-based services
- Strong interpersonal skills and passion for working with diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language services to a K-6 or K-8 caseload (determined by your professional preference)
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Document student progress and comply with school and district guidelines
- Maintain open communication with families, teachers, and support staff
