Speech Language Pathologist in Sarasota, FL
Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting student communication and development in a dynamic school environment near Sarasota, FL. We are seeking two dedicated Speech-Language Pathologists to deliver impactful therapy services across Buffalo Creek Middle School and Prine Elementary. This full-time contract role spans the school year through late May, offering 35 hours each week in collaboration with a talented peer SLP and an outstanding SLPA.
At Buffalo Creek Middle, you’ll play an essential role serving a caseload of around 50 students in direct therapy, including support for low cognitive and behavioral units, plus consults for approximately 10 additional students. The school welcomes a visionary new principal and fosters a collaborative culture. At Prine Elementary, you’ll team up with a skilled onsite SLP and a dedicated part-time SLPA to cover a diverse array of students, including intensive and integrated pre-K classrooms, ASD programs, and specialized education classes. Expect to start with a manageable caseload of approximately 95 students, benefiting from years of established support and shared expertise.
Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Speech-Language Pathology license required
- School-based SLP experience strongly preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Commitment to supporting students with varied communication, cognitive, and developmental needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy
- Develop individualized treatment plans and intervention strategies
- Document progress and maintain thorough, compliant records
- Participate in IEP meetings and consult with staff and families
- Adapt services to diverse student populations and changing school needs
