School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Sarasota, Florida
Exciting opportunities are available for passionate Speech-Language Pathologists seeking a contract role in engaging school environments near Sarasota, FL. In this full-time role (35 hours per week), you will make a tremendous impact at two campuses: a middle school with a newly appointed principal and supportive atmosphere, and an elementary school renowned for its collaborative, experienced therapy staff. Work with diverse student populations, including those in low cognitive and behavioral units as well as intensive and integrated Pre-K classes. You’ll have opportunities to form valuable connections, not just with students, but also with supportive colleagues, including a seasoned SLP and an energetic SLPA.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Florida SLP License.
- School-based SLP experience preferred.
- Ability to work on-site, supporting students both directly and in consultative roles.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with staff, families, and administration.
- Adaptable to varying caseloads and student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver impactful speech-language pathology services in accordance with each student’s IEP.
- Serve approximately 50 students at the middle school, plus consult for additional students; elementary students will be shared among your team.
- Develop and implement therapy programs, document progress, and participate in IEP meetings.
- Collaborate closely with school teams and families to promote the best educational outcomes.
- Support a vibrant learning environment and contribute to professional growth activities.
