Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist - Rural Retreat, VA
Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students from ages 2 to 22 in a school-based environment near Rural Retreat, VA. The current caseload includes approximately 68 students, and you’ll collaborate closely with educational staff and families to help every learner thrive.
What We’re Looking For:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
- Experience or interest in pediatric populations and school settings
- Background in teletherapy and SLP-Healthcare practices is a plus
- Candidates working toward or completing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) also encouraged
- Comfortable managing a diverse caseload and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide targeted therapy for students with speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in cooperation with educators and families
- Maintain systematic records of student progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed
- Utilize teletherapy platforms when appropriate to provide remote therapy services
- Conduct assessments and observations to inform evidence-based interventions
- Advocate for students’ needs and ensure compliance with all relevant educational guidelines
