This contract role is designed for an SLPA ready to collaborate closely with a supervising SLP, providing direct therapy services and assisting with assessments for K-5 students in a supportive environment. With supervision now in place, you'll have the necessary guidance to thrive and make a meaningful impact throughout the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication or related field
- Valid SLPA credentials for practice in an educational setting
- Previous experience supporting SLPs in schools preferred, especially at the elementary (K-5) level
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with young learners
- Reliable, organized, and collaborative approach to working within a school team
- Must be able to complete employment credentialing and fingerprinting as required
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students under the supervision of the lead SLP
- Support in conducting speech and language assessments as needed
- Assist with documentation and tracking progress in alignment with IEP goals
- Coordinate therapy space and materials to create a welcoming, effective environment
- Attend and contribute to required meetings; all time worked within your contracted schedule will be compensated
Additional Details:
- Comprehensive training provided for the school’s IEP system
- Set schedule: Aug 17, 2024 – May 30, 2025, with 37.5 hours per week
- Position based at Ettrick Elementary School with occasional paid travel
