Speech-Language Pathologist Responsibilities
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will provide speech and language services to students and collaborate with teachers, families, and other school-based professionals to support communication, academic participation, and student success.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing speech and language evaluations and therapy services to students
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans and goals
- Supporting students with articulation, language, fluency, voice, and communication needs
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to student goals
- Monitoring and documenting student progress
- Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, families, and related service providers
- Maintaining accurate student and therapy documentation
- Supporting students in accessing and participating in their educational environment
SLP Qualifications
- Active Florida Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred/required as applicable
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Experience working with children or in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, educators, families, and school staff
