Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist - Poquoson, Virginia
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available in Poquoson, VA, serving K-12 students across four school sites. This itinerant role offers the opportunity to provide direct, in-person speech therapy services to a diverse student population within a school setting. The position begins in August 2025, with possible orientation and training sessions scheduled for July.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized speech-language therapy services to K-12 students across multiple school locations.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to develop and implement effective communication strategies.
- Conduct assessments and maintain accurate documentation of student progress.
- Participate in team meetings and develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Adhere to state and federal guidelines for speech therapy services within schools.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) certification or Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) credential.
- Experience working with pediatric populations in school or healthcare settings.
- Strong knowledge of teletherapy techniques is a plus, although this position requires in-person service.
- Familiarity with itinerant service delivery models.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, families, and school staff.
- Ability to manage caseloads and travel between multiple sites efficiently.
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) preferred or completion imminent.
Work Schedule and Location:
- Full-time hours, approximately 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- On-site services only, no remote or teletherapy days.
- Serving students at four different schools within the Poquoson, VA area.
- Position start date: August 2025, with potential orientation and training in July 2025.
