Speech Language Pathologist (CCC)
Position Title: ESE Special Education Teacher
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (depending on district needs)
Setting: Elementary, Middle, or High School
Position Summary
The ESE Special Education Teacher provides specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The teacher collaborates with general education staff, related service providers, administrators, and families to ensure students receive appropriate educational services and achieve academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.
Adapt curriculum, instructional methods, and materials to meet students' diverse learning needs.
Conduct ongoing assessments and collect data to monitor student progress toward IEP goals.
Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and accommodations.
Maintain accurate student records, progress reports, and compliance documentation.
Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and parent conferences.
Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and classroom management techniques.
Work closely with related service providers, including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and school psychologists.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and educational needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Valid state Special Education/ESE teaching certification.
Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education compliance requirements.
Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Experience working with students with varying disabilities preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift instructional materials.
Ability to assist students with mobility or behavioral needs when necessary.
Preferred Skills
Experience with inclusive classroom practices.
Familiarity with IEP management systems and progress monitoring tools.
Strong behavior management and intervention skills.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
