Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Palmetto, FL

You’ll serve Buffalo Creek Middle and Prine Elementary, partnering with experienced colleagues and contributing to strong teams at each location. Buffalo Creek Middle offers a four-day-per-week schedule with a caseload of approximately 50 students receiving direct therapy, plus an additional 10 students on consult. The site features dedicated low cognitive and behavioral support units. Prine Elementary in West Bradenton provides a collaborative environment with another full-time SLP and a skilled part-time SLPA. The caseload includes intensive and integrated Pre-K, ASD, ESE, and low cognitive classes, reaching around 95 students collectively with multiple therapy providers.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Current FL SLP license required
- Experience or strong interest in school-based and/or pediatric speech therapy
- Ability to independently manage caseloads while collaborating closely with other therapists and educational staff
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Enthusiasm for working with students with diverse needs, including those in specialized programs (ASD, ESE, low cognitive, and behavioral units)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services onsite
- Conduct direct and consultative interventions as needed
- Attend IEP meetings and assist with developing individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate closely with classroom staff, families, and other specialists
- Maintain thorough documentation and contribute to progress reporting
