Pediatric Bilingual School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Palatine, Illinois
Step into an exciting opportunity to support student success as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) in a rewarding school-based setting near Palatine, IL. As part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, you’ll deliver vital speech and language services to young learners while working alongside fellow SLPs, special education supervisors, social workers, psychologists, and other school professionals.
This contract role offers a consistent 35-hour work week throughout the school year, with each school featuring a dynamic support network and manageable caseloads of 35–45 students. Your work will include conducting comprehensive evaluations, facilitating eligibility processes, leading IEP meetings, offering direct therapy to children, and providing RtI (Response to Intervention) support.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Illinois SLP license
- Professional Educator’s License (PEL) for Illinois schools (ISBE)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred
- Experience or strong interest in working in school-based or pediatric settings
- Skilled in collaborating within a diverse, multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy to school-aged children in accordance with IEPs
- Complete student assessments and comprehensive evaluations
- Participate in multidisciplinary eligibility and IEP meetings
- Provide documentation, progress reporting, and compliance with state and district standards
- Collaborate with educators, families, and school staff to maximize student outcomes
